Welcome! We’re Todd and Tammy Denmark, owners and operators of Denmark Acres, LLC.
We are honored to introduce ourselves and share the story behind Denmark Acres.
The roots of Denmark Acres trace back to October 1990, when Todd began creating a small cemetery display called Restless Slumber in his parents’ front yard. What started as a simple Halloween project quickly grew into a local attraction, drawing hundreds of visitors who came to experience his imaginative and detailed creations.
As life moved forward—with careers, marriage, and raising a family—we made the decision to pause the project. However, the dream never faded. Over the years, we continued to envision how Restless Slumber Cemetery could one day become something even greater.
It wasn’t until our children were grown that we felt the time was right to bring that vision to life.
With a leap of faith, we invested our savings and gathered as many materials as we could—often repurposed or generously given—to build a drive-through cemetery experience. With the support of family and friends, we proudly opened our Drive-Thru Cemetery in 2021.
As attendance grew, so did the challenges. Long lines and traffic concerns led us to rethink the experience. Rather than turning visitors away, we chose to expand the vision—transforming Restless Slumber Cemetery into an immersive Old West setting where families could walk, explore, and enjoy a variety of activities together.
Inspired by Tammy’s deep love for history, antiques, and old-fashioned living, we began designing an 1800s-style boom town rooted in simplicity, craftsmanship, and community. Every structure and experience is thoughtfully created to reflect a time when life moved slower and moments were shared more intentionally.
After countless sketches—many of them drawn on dinner napkins—and months of planning, construction began in our family’s back field, funded entirely by the proceeds from our Drive-Thru.
We started with a ticket booth and a small jail. Todd’s father, Chuck, played a vital role by installing electricity throughout the property. From there, Denmark Acres continued to grow with the addition of a General Store, mining company, Undertaker’s facade, playground, wooden stage, and surrounding fencing.
In October 2022, with the support of incredible food trucks, vendors, and our community, we hosted our very first Fall Festival. The response was overwhelming and deeply encouraging.
Since then, we have continued to expand. The General Store now offers antiques, unique gifts, homemade baked goods, nostalgic candies, and more. Todd’s aunt, Frankie Sue, built a Livery Stable that houses animals for our petting zoo, and we’ve added irrigation to support our corn maze and sunflower fields during the fall season.
Looking ahead, we hope to welcome schools and daycare groups during the week, offering opportunities for children to learn about gardening, history, and life in the 1800s.
While we have big dreams for Denmark Acres, we remain committed to building it thoughtfully—season by season—as our resources allow. Every step forward is made possible by hard work, faith, and the unwavering support of our community.
More than anything, our greatest joy comes from seeing families gather here, creating lasting memories together.
We are truly grateful for each and every person who has supported us along the way. Denmark Acres would not exist without our family, our friends, and this incredible community.
